Below is the summary/synopsis of the movie, followed by short clips and snapshots of the movie.

Synopsis:

Will, a scientist at Gen-Sys, is trying to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease. The drug, ALZ-112, mutates the chimpanzees it is tested on, giving them human levels of intelligence. A mother chimp suddenly goes on a rampage to defend her baby from a perceived threat and is killed. The remaining chimpanzees are ordered to be euthanized but Franklin, the chimp handler, is unable to bring himself to kill the baby chimp. Will ends up taking him home.

Caesar, grows quickly and inherits his mother's hyper intelligence. Over time, Caesar becomes more aware of his differences from his human family and starts feeling like a pet. Will eventually reveals the truth about Caesar’s origins and ALZ-112 to him.

A frantic Will soon administers ALZ-112 to his father Charles, whose Alzheimer’s condition is deteriorating. Charles’s condition initially improves, but the dementia gradually returns in full force. When trying to defend Charles, Caesar attacks Will’s neighbour and is removed from Will’s house.

Held in a Primate Shelter, Caesar takes command of the captive chimps and starts a plan to liberate the apes held in captivity, with the help of the new ALZ-113 drug Will produces.
